Day at the Beach

Some pics from our playdate to Biloxi Beach with the squadron spouses and kids... This lighthouse is and always has been the main landmark in Biloxi. Amazing that it survived the storm...

Here's Mary with her newest little friend, Samantha Queen. Samantha was thrilled about being poked, grabbed, and without her pacifier!

The moms and babies (and Macy, Mary's future babysitter!)

Five little beach pals! The pier in the background used to be very large, covered and well travelled by tourists. Now, it is just a "line of jumbled lumber"... looks like criss-crossed toothpicks or something. I actually have a photo of it from when Bill and I were here for a session of training for him back in 2000. Biloxi sure looks different now...

But, this is so neat... the city of Biloxi is now turning all of the ruined trees along the coast into beautiful carvings. This one was just finished recently... some of the others are of seagulls, pelicans, other sea creatures.... it's nice to see the coast finally taking shape again since Katrina hit two years ago.

After hauling kids, beach gear and towels back into the house... I found Grant sound asleep in the living room. One tired little beach bum!
