My favorite time of year is here...

I love Fall. There doesn't seem to be much of a change from Summer yet (here in the South), but at least the evenings are starting to cool down - a little. We're not sweating every day, but the humidity is still threatening on some. This is definitely my favorite season - I do miss the sounds and smells of burning leaves, the autumn color in the trees, the crisp cool air, wearing jeans and long sleeved shirts... However, we are making up for all of that in our family traditions. And now, having entered the month of October, we are jumping right into some of our Halloween time favorites! We found a pumpkin patch near Mobile, Alabama, and will hopefully be heading that way sometime soon. The cornstalks, hay bales, scarecrows, etc... are everywhere! Here are some photos of what we have been up to...
Halloween lunches - eek!

Caramel apples - YUM

Grant demonstrates proper etiquette in eating a caramel dipped apple!

Fall decorations - fun! No pumpkins yet...

The kids are so excited for Halloween to arrive. They ask every day, "How long until it's here?" Grant is a little afraid of all the scary "dummies" that are around!!! Ivan has been practicing his trick or treating and says his favorite thing is just eating his candy when he gets done.

Enjoy the Fall season and Happy Harvest/ Halloween traditions to all! OK... gotta go. Ivan is "resting" - we are home from church today to let him recooperate and actually make it to school this week. Maybe we can actually get WELL! What a start to the school year we've had.

Fall is my favorite season as well. It is just so beautiful. I hope you are all on the mend and get back into your normal routines soon.
