Happy Easter!

Our plans for Easter had a last minute change this year. We had planned on spending it Nashville with family, but ended up spending it at home for "out processing reasons" that were not happening in a timely fashion! We missed seeing everyone, but had a very blessed Easter regardless. Our day began with the kids' favorite tradition (and mine too) - hunting for their Easter baskets.
Here are our three early birds - happily munching on some of their Easter treats!
This was a tradition we began this year - going through the Resurrection Eggs. My mom sent this to us and my first thought was, "cheesy." Honestly, whoever invented this little "tool" for telling the Easter story is a genius. It really helped our boys (Mary just liked the neat things inside each egg!) grasp the concept of Christ's death and resurrection. It was neat for them to hear the scripture, and hold the small items in their hands that helped them visualize each part of the story as it unfolded... They loved it so much that they wanted to do it again, and again. Thanks, Mom!
Here's Mary, peeking into some of the eggs.
Easter Sunday - on our way out the door to church. Just a couple of family shots! I took a few pictures of the kids before Easter Sunday... just for fun.
After church, we went out for lunch at Cracker Barrel, with our friends, Brett and Cindy, and their kids, Brooke and Will. It was so nice to have good friends to celebrate Easter with, since we weren't seeing any family this time 'round! Ivan took this picture of the four of us - it's a little far away, but he sure centered us well!
The kids! Brooke, Will, Mary, Ivan, and GrantIvan and Grant love to play checkers, and thought it was pretty cool that they could do this before and after their meal! Like two little old men...
Happy Easter!
