Keesler Airshow Sneak Peak!

Just a sneak peak at what will be going on at the airshow tomorrow, on Keesler AFB. I took the kids to the base today to watch the planes practice, see some that were already parked on the tarmac, and get a glimpse of the Clydesdale horses. We picked up Bill and headed out to the flight line!

The kids liked seeing the aerobatic planes in the sky...
...and then on the ground!
Bill and his crew
We were able to see the Budweiser Clydesdales - this was very fun!
It was perfect timing for seeing these beautiful creatures. The wing commander had just taken his wife in to see them, and called the boys, saying, "Here, we have two future pilots - let's give them a chance to pet the horse!" Here are Ivan and Grant with "Rudy."
Not so sure about Rudy's every move!
Mary got up close and personal - I don't think she realized it was going to actually touch her face. She backed up and looked at me with the funniest expression on her face! The horses are so large - but she was not afraid. She is our little animal lover!

"Wowed, Mommy, Wowed!" (loud)
Ready for business...
Ivan and Grant - studying a Marine helicopter
Just as I shot this picture, an F-15 flew overhead with a ROAR. I was holding Mary and grabbed her ears, while throwing my camera around my arm. Ear protection tomorrow!!! You can see the boys are aware of something coming...

This airplane almost makes my husband cry - the C-17. This was probably his favorite plane to fly. It is just a majestic aircraft - cool piece of machinery! He loves the thing.
And.... drum roll... the USAF Thunderbirds were out practicing as well. Although a few of them were broken down - they had mechanics working through the night to fix them, so hopefully they'll be up and running tomorrow. Should be an awesome show. Stay tuned for pics from the real thing!
