Tonight held the last games that our boys would play in the state of Mississippi. It has been fun to watch both Ivan and Grant progress in their skills. However, it's been the most entertaining to watch Grant. Playing
Tball is like slow torture for this kid. He hates it. He looks like a prisoner on the field... does his duty (stands there and looks alert, sort of)... and then comes in and stares at the grass (while continually asking, "am I done YET?"). He despises the game. Well, tonight was the last time he'd have to put on his glove, and he actually looked as though he was enjoying himself. Amazing. Here's our - way to cute for that helmet - five year old.
I missed his hit - the coach was standing in the way. He hits it every time - hasn't missed once all season. He does really well, for a kid who doesn't like the sport!
This is how five year
olds hustle after the ball. There were a few fights - it's hilarious to see the entire team take off in one direction (Grant is third from the left).
And then there is Ivan - our future major league rookie. He loves the game and always asks for his coach to take the "T" away so he can be pitched to.
And he's got the moves too... always sliding in (even when he doesn't have to!)... and has his little victory dances... and "cool guy" dances out in the field. This couple in front of me was cracking up at his antics, when I politely asked if I could step through to take his picture. They were a little embarrassed that they'd been caught laughing at my kid! But he's so funny... we all are laughing when Ivan is on the field. Even his coach!
And then there's Mary. She's our little social gal - and just loves the grandmas and grandpas on the sideline. She even talked this old guy into giving her his seat!

Bill flew in late, but made it just in time to see the last inning of each boy's game. It was a fun ending to a good season. Even Grant was excited that he'd finished it out!
