We are now going on week three of having seventeen tadpoles in our home. The city is building a new park near our subdivision, and it has quite a few large puddles as the ground isn't smoothed out and sodded yet. We were walking a path nearby, and Grant yells, "Mom! Tadpoles!" There were thousands. We could cup our hands and pick up bunches at a time. Bill went back the following weekend with the boys, and brought a small plastic container along. They came home with 17! They lived on our counter for a couple of weeks in a small glass bowl. We just now transferred them to a larger habitat, as we are seeing some changes!!! Their bellies are getting huge and their bodies, lumpy. So, either they are dying of malnutrition from our fish flakes, or they are transforming into the frogs their mommies always hoped they would be. : )
We all enjoy watching them grow and anticipating their transformation. It's a very fun science lesson for the kids, on some of God's smallest creatures!

Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum! Watch out, little tadpoles!

What are you going to do with 17 frog pets? :)
You are such an inspiration to me! Jonathan was given a frog -- rather "a mail-in for your tadpole" and I still haven't sent in for it. Very encouraging...It will be a fascinating science lesson. What a great way to look at it!
Oh, I collected tadpoles growing up! Such fun -they would die, and I would just got get more from the ditch!
