Today was a special day. First Baptist Early Education Center put on a Mother's Day tea for all of the preschooler and kindergarten moms. I had a friend watch Mary for me, so I could focus on the boys and enjoy my time with them without chasing my sweet toddler everywhere!

Me and my boys
The tables were set for us when we arrived, complete with bite-sized "tea treats," place cards, and a personalized cookbook with recipes from the moms. The cookbooks were entitled, "Savoring God's Love" and each was personalized with a photo of our kids! Ivan and Grant have been becoming regulars at having their photo taken with chef hats on. : )

They gave us time to mingle, and then Debbie
Trenchard, the school director, gave a short devotional. She stayed with the cooking theme and entitled her talk, "Recipe for a Good Mother." Here is a picture of our table. We got to sit with my friend Marian and her boys, Patrick and
Ronan, and Mrs. Jeanette, the four year old teacher and her daughter, Cathryn.

Ivan with his teacher, Mrs. Drake

The kindergarten class gave each mom a
hand print tile, and a handmade Mother's Day card. He even wrote, "Happy Mother's Day. Love, Ivan" all by himself. Cards made by my kids are such treasures. I just loved it.

This is what Grant spent the devotional time doing - creating a cheerio kabob with his toothpick. Preschooler attention spans only last so long!

The tea ended with two songs by the kids, led by Miss Barbara. They were so cute. Grant squatted and held his feet the entire time, but sang every word! Ivan is in the back row...

On the way out, we thanked Mrs.
Trenchard for a nice tea party. This school really is a special place. I am thankful that we'll have another year to be there with Grant. Ivan said, "Mom, our school sure does a lot of fun stuff!"
